I have it installed with the rbdoom3-bfg source port and it quits right after i start it up on lutris.. Didn't work for me though my message is different. i have found the .exe and selected to run in compatibility mode for windows 8 and windows 7, and ran as admin, and both times it just says "preparing to launch doom", then after 3 seconds it closes.. Doom on the pc was full of issues at launch less than a week ago. one of the most common problems that gamers are experiencing is that the game won't launch. despite pressing play and steam registering players as playing the game, nothing happens..
My buddy bought doom 3 bfg and tells me that when he hits play that the "launching game" pops up for 1 second and then goes away to nothingness. after this it continues to do nothing and he can. Here is a fix for doom 3 bfg:edition. just put it in your doom 3 bfg:edition folder located in c:program files (x86)steamsteamappscommondoom 3 bfg edition (for steam only)!. When rundll32 is not running doom 3 wont launch no matter what, whats weird is that when launching doom for the first time it doesn't work even though rundll32 is running, only when launching it.
